Yael Lavie & Gonen Ben Itzhak's film " Whatever Happened to George Halil " begins
one day in 1988, when George Halil a Lebanese who collaborated with the IDF,
leaves his home in southern Lebanon on his way to a meeting with his handlers in
Israel. Since then, his traces have disappeared, and his fate is unknown to his family,
who fled to Israel during the withdrawal. Did George disappear on secret duty? Why
does the state refuse to provide answers? The film traces his story as it unfolds and
reveals the dark past of Israels occupation of southern Lebanon
