Refugee Lullaby

In the autumn of 2015, Israeli director Ronit Kertsner sees a YouTube-video that goes viral: Hans Breuer, Austria’s last wandering shepherd, drives an Arab family across the Hungarian border. He sings Yiddish lullabies for the children and they sing back to him. Ronit starts filming Hans and over a period of four years, creates a portrait of an unusual man who dedicates his life to help refugees throughout Europe, in any way he can. It is a thought-provoking film about devoted solidarity, compassion, its origins, and its boundaries. The film connects Jewish history in Europe with Current reality.
