Yael Lotem

Yaël Lotem is a Documentary filmmaker whose work explores the boundaries between reality and fiction, history and memory. Her award-winning film Death and the Maiden (2014) about the turbulent life-story of the artist Charlotte Salomon premiered at DOC NYC, DokFest Munich, and aired on RBB. After several years of working in Development at leading production companies in Israel, her passion for storytelling led her to move to London to pursue an MA in Directing Documentary at the National Film and Television School (NFTS). There, she directed The Forest (2018) and Miu (2019), her most recent film, shortlisted for the Grierson Awards. Currently, Yaël is developing two new projects: Her debut feature Kenan with the support of NFCT and Rabinovich Film Fund in Israel, and Sabotage supported by IPBC.
