Ruth Walk
Graduated from the Sam Spiegel Film School (1993) & Hadassah College, Jerusalem (1988). Her films, mainly documentary, earned international acclaim, airing on various international broadcast stations and winning many awards such as: Jerusalem Film Festival Jury Prize (1998) – for "Pinkas’ Dream", documentary; Doc Aviv Israel: Best Director Award (2002) – for "The Settlers" (“Tel Rumeida”), a documentary that premiered at the Berlinale.
Ruth Walk has earned the Art of Cinema Prize 2003-4, Jerusalem Cinematheque, as well as the Ministry of Culture and of The Landau Prize 2007-08, for Excellence in Documentary Cinema.
Her works include(partial list): Golda (documentary) – A portrait of Golda Meir (2003); The Balcony (documentary) – The story of the Israeli actor Israel Becker, Holocaust survivor, painter and filmmaker (2000); A New Beginning (documentary)- following prisoners in their fight against the drug plague(1999).
