Karin is an award-winning Tel-Aviv based documentary filmmaker and producer, a senior lecturer in Films in Visual Communications at the Holon Institute of Technology, a member on the boards of The Israeli Film Academy and The Israeli Documentary Forum, and a mother of two children. She holds a M.F.A in scriptwriting from The Steve Tisch School of Film and Television in Tel Aviv University.
Kainer’s riveting documentaries have garnered worldwide critical acclaim. Her titles were creened internationally in theaters and on television, including BBC, Amazon Prime, FRANCE1, AL Jazeera, ARTE.
'Tiberias under the Red Line'¬, holding the Best Documentary Series of 2023 award from the Documentary Forum Awards competition, was aired in August 2023 on Israeli public broadcadt company Kan 11, and received rave reviews. It was also one of the most watched series in the last year.
