Jessie Chisi

Jessie Chisi is a Zambian female filmmaker known for her 2014 debut feature documentary ‘Between Rings’, which follows Zambia’s first female boxer. She holds a BA in Development Studies, a Diploma in Film Training and is a Berlinale alumni. In 2021 she directed ‘Extracted: The People vs. Vedanta’, a short documentary about human rights and the environment in the Zambian mining industry. Her award winning short film ‘Imagination’ from 2016 is set in an African urban community and tells the story of an African boy with an imaginative spirit that transcends daily life. She is inspired to tell African stories that defy the odds.
