Gabi Schlag
Gabi Schlag works as a director and writer for film and TV. She has studied journalism. With a focus on culture, science and history, she mainly produces documentaries and reports for public broadcasters. Her particular preference is for mixed documentary forms: Documentaries with a feature film component. Gabi Schlag developed the six-part series “Tatort Berlin” for RBB and implemented it with great success. Also to be mentioned is the semi-fictional documentation “The Special Commission - Secret Murder Investigation in the GDR” for ZDF History and ARTE / ZDF, and other criminal cases from the GDR which she implemented for MDR. Gabi Schlag prepares abstract scientific facts in a didactically entertaining and understandable way and visualizes them in an innovative and exciting way. That is why she works particularly where scientific innovation meets and changes society. Since 2008 she has been teaching as a guest lecturer at the Free University of Berlin in the field of science journalism with a focus on television, in the field of journalism with a focus on the visualization of scientific and cultural content for television and at the University of the Arts in the field of cultural journalism.
