Anna Somershaf

Anna Somershaf is an Israeli documentary filmmaker and producer, born in Moscow and immigrated to Tel-Aviv in her childhood. Anna is an Alumni of IDFAcademy and of
IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program) - organized by
the U.S. State Department.
Her feature documentary "Women of Valor", premiered in Jerusalem Film Festival
(2021), was nominated for the Israeli Oscar (Ophir awards), and was screened in
dozens of international film festivals.
Her previous projects as a director include "Jihad Now" (a TV series about Global Jihad) and "Holyland" (about a Ghanaian Pastor of migrant workers in Tel Aviv). As a producer she completed “Shai K.” by Ari Davidovich; "Mixed Feelings", by the Emmy award winner Guy Davidi and "Women of Valor". She worked on international award winning documentaries such as "Advocate" (Rachel Leah Jones & Philippe Bellaiche), "In His Image" (by Tami Ravid for EO, IDFA), "Disturbing the Peace" (by Steve Apkon for Netflix) and produced the "Greenhouse" Project. Anna graduated with honors from Sapir film school (BFA), participated in an International program at "La Femis" film school in Paris, and completed MA in cultural studies in Tel Aviv University. In addition to her filmmaking, Anna is also teaching documentary at Beit Berl college.
