Anna Somershaf
Anna Somershaf is an Israeli documentary filmmaker and producer, born in Moscow and immigrated to Tel-Aviv in her childhood. Anna is an Alumni of IDFAcademy.
Her feature documentary 'Women of Valor' (2021) which she directed and produced, premiered in Jerusalem Film Festival, was nominated for the Israeli Oscar (Ophir awards), won several international awards and was screened in dozens of film festivals.
Her other projects as a director include: 'A Magazine of her own' (2025), the TV series "Jihad Now" (2016) and 'Holyland" (2012). Her films as a producer include: 'One Street in Silwan' by Bissan Tibi, 'Raida Adon - Holding her Ground' by Bracha Zisman-Cohen, “Shai K.” by Ari Davidovich and "Mixed Feelings", by the Emmy award winner Guy Davidi. Anna worked on international award winning documentaries such as "Advocate" (Rachel Leah Jones & Philippe Bellaiche), "In His Image" (by Tami Ravid for EO, IDFA), "Disturbing the Peace" (by Steve Apkon for Netflix) and produced the "Greenhouse" Project. Anna graduated with honors from Sapir film school (BFA), participated in an International program at "La Femis" film school in Paris, and completed MA in cultural studies in Tel Aviv University. In addition to her filmmaking, she is also teaching documentary at Beit Berl college.
